‘Elysium’ Will Be The SF Movie of 2013

Dystopian future riven by inequality? Check.

Dazzling high-tech? Check.

Explosions? Check.

AI police robots? Check.

Directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9) and starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, there’s quality behind and in front of the camera. I can’t wait.

  1. Even just because of Neill’s accomplishments it’s a project to keep an eye on, it certainly is going to be interesting as well to see who carries the movie more, Jodie Foster or Matt Damon.

I’m really hoping for it to be more than today’s standard reboot or shock & awe production. Particularly the science fiction genre could use that a lot.

    1. Couldn’t agree more. Blomkamp is a truly smart auteur, so I have high hopes that this movie will explore the concept as much as it has exciting action sequences.

Jodie Foster has been superb for thirty years, and Matt Damon has quietly developed into one of the best actors of his generation, so I’m excited!
